Cord Blood Collection Manager

Summary

StemCyte is a global leading cord blood therapeutic company that offers public and private cord blood banking. As a pioneer and a leader in this industry with more than 2000 cord blood units shipped for transplants, we educate parents and offer options on their newborn’s umbilical cord blood banking. Stem cells harvested from umbilical cord blood are currently used to treat over 80 diseases including leukemia, autoimmune diseases, lupus, and inheritable diseases such as sickle cell anemia. We are currently seeking a cord blood collection manager to manage the progress of our fixed collection sites in Southern California, direct and supervise collection staff and donor eligibility team. This position will report directly to Collection and Medical Director. The ideal candidate for this position has a positive attitude, a tireless work ethic and is passionate in educating the public on cord blood banking.

Core Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Manage our fixed collection hospital sites in Southern California to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the collection progress and compliance with FDA regulations, FACT and AABB. 2. Manage and supervise cord blood collectors and donor eligibility team and their activities. 3. Ensures strict adherence to internal and external policies and procedures. 4. Lead weekly conference calls and document meeting minutes. 5. Prepares and communicates monthly statistics for administrators, collectors and hospitals. 6. Conceives and leads motivational programs to encourage hospital staff to participate. 7. Lead contact with hospital staff and administrators. 8. Ensures IRB Informed Consent and contracts are current.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in Donor BloodCollections or Hematopoietic Stem Cell Collections required.
  • MT (ASCP)SBB certification or equivalent donorcollection training required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a courteousand cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with recipients,families, visitors, hospital staff and co-workers required.
  • Ability to fluently speak,read,write andunderstand the English language required.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentialityabout health care and  patient/clientinformation.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to includeweekends and holidays if needed.

Cord Blood Laboratory Technician (Part Time)

Summary

StemCyte, Inc. is a Delaware corporation operating in California which specializes in stem cell technology such as transplantation therapy, diagnostics, research and development, and genomics. StemCyte is seeking Part Time Cord Blood Laboratory Techs under the direct and general supervision of the Chief Laboratory Technician, and assists the Medical Technologist.

Core Responsibilities

• Follows standard operating procedures and departmental guidelines for processing specimens, performing test procedures, storage of hematopoietic stem cells, cord tissue, and donor blood samples. • Prepares reagents, chemicals, and other miscellaneous items as needed. • Maintains laboratory record and audit trails by signing work and recording data according to standard procedures established for the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills

Education and Training
• Science/Biology major - Bachelor's degree preferred
• Some laboratory experience - 1 year in hematopoietic stem cell lab preferred

• Well organized, accurate, and attentive to details.

Umbilical cord blood and tissue is a rich source of stem cells that have the potential to cure dozens of diseases such as diabetes, various cancers, blood disorders, and other immune and genetic diseases. We are currently seeking experienced sales professionals in the San Francisco, CA, Orange, CA, Beverly Hills, CA area to help a growing number of families choose to bank their newborn babies’ umbilical cord blood and tissue. You will be offering Stem Cell Collection Kits for Umbilical Cord Blood and Tissue to a growing number of parents who are interested in storing their child’s Stem Cells for future use. The ideal candidate will be a full-time outside sales representative focused on calling on OB/GYN’s and their Patients. Our Sales Representatives are self-motivated, like to have fun, and are passionate about making a difference in the life of the child and their family.

Competitive, Achievement oriented Sales Focus • Building lasting relationships with potential patients/customers while education and motivating them to invest in their family’s future • Build professional relationships with all key OB/GYN’s in the territory • Generate Sales Leads and increase conversion rates • Creative Marketing and Social Media skills to reach local Pre-natal and Parenting Groups • Create a customer based referral business to increase territory business and meet monthly sales targets • Meet daily/weekly and monthly goals and exceed expectations • Follow SOP’s, policies and practices • Maintain client and employee confidentiality • Manage and maintain client data in database • Participate in continuing medical education and sales training

Minimum Qualifications/Skills

Education and Training:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Outside Sales experience with Cold Call experience
  • Experience selling to Doctors’ Offices a plus
